Hotel Zone
Housing: Hotel zone housing
options are either on the beach or walking distance to the beach,
and a bus ride to the school.
Downtown
Housing:
Downtown (el centro) is where
the school is located and where the majority of the locals live.
It is cheaper and much less touristy than the hotel zone, and gives
you more opportunities to practice your Spanish. Most
downtown housing
is walking distance to the school, a 10-15
minute bus ride to the nearest beaches.
Home Stays:
A great way to practice your Spanish. We can arrange
home stays for students who would like to stay with a local family.
The options vary by location and amenities such as air-conditioning
and private bath, and all include at least 2 meals per day.
Punta Sam
& Puerto Juarez:
Punta Sam and Puerto Juarez are on the beach, north of downtown Cancun
and the hotel zone, near the ferry to Isla Mujeres. It is a beachfront
area with an entirely different atmosphere than Cancun's main hotel
zone. It is far more laid-back and much more like downtown Cancun
as far as restaurants and shops. It is a 10 minute bus or taxi
ride to the school.
Housing Recommendations
If you are traveling alone, on a budget, or
would like to meet other travelers from all over the world: Many
students enjoy staying in
one of the hostels in Cancun
for clean, affordable lodging and the opportunity to meet other travelers from all over the
world. Some of the hostels have private rooms available,
some with private bathrooms.
For other budget options: Besides the
hostels, other budget options
include Homestays, and the
Punta
Allen Guest House in downtown Cancun. On or
near the beaches in Cancun's hotel zone the best budget beachfront
options are the
Dos Playas Hotel, the
Club Verano Beat, and the
Imperial Las Perlas For options on the
lagoon, near the beaches, there are two affordable options that
also include kitchenettes: the
Imperial Laguna Hotel and the
Blue Lagoon Condos.
If you are traveling as a
group or as a family, there are several
beachfront condos and villas available with 1 -3 bedrooms.
There is also a two-bedroom house
and a two-bedroom condo available,
both just steps from the school in downtown Cancun.
For stays of one month or
more, the most popular options are the
Villas Marlin beachfront
condos, the Blue Lagoon condos
on the lagoon in the hotel zone, or the budget-priced
Coconut Inn apartments in
downtown Cancun. There is also a
two-bedroom house and a
two-bedroom condo available for
monthly rentals, both just steps from the school in downtown
Cancun.
Cancun Hotels and Resorts: Cancun has an amazing variety
of hotels to choose from. Luxury resorts and boutique hotels line
Cancun's beautiful beaches, while cheaper hotels can be found in
downtown Cancun.
