About the School

The Cancun Spanish Institute is a small, dynamic school with a casual atmosphere.  We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, friendly, and personalized  service and instruction to our students.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance or information about studying  Spanish with us in Cancun.

The school owners/directors, Francisco and Lynda, are available to assist you prior to your trip and throughout your stay in Cancun with any questions you may have about the school, Cancun, and housing arrangements.

We are located in a spacious building in the heart of downtown Cancun (el centro) near downtown's main shopping, nightlife, and restaurant district - just a short walk from the bus line that runs between the hotel zone and downtown Cancun.

And we are located just  minutes by bus or taxi from Cancun's hotel zone and beautiful beaches.

School Location

We have three indoor classrooms for small-group classes, plus two tutorial areas.  We are the only school in the area with air-conditioned classrooms!

The school is decorated  in colonial Mexican style, and a spacious lounge area and a small outdoor patio provide a break area for students during breaks and before and after classes.

Our Students

Most of our students are from the U.S., Canada,  Germany, and Japan, but we have enrolled  students from  all over the world - including Brazil, England, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Holland, New  Zealand, Australia, India, Russia, and Korea.

Our students are adults of all ages and include vacationers, professionals seeking to improve their Spanish skills for their careers, backpackers preparing for their travels through Latin America, couples, families, and many others just interested in studying Spanish with us in Mexico.

Students in adult classes range in age from high school seniors to senior citizens, with an average age in the late 20s to mid 30s.

Programs for Families

We accept students 17 years of age and older into our  group classes, and we accept students 15 and older if accompanied by an adult.  Although we do not have a formal group program for children or teens younger than 15, we can accommodate them as a separate group or with private tutoring.  If at least 3 family members, regardless of age, are at the same Spanish level, they can enroll together in the same class at the group rates.  For groups fewer than three people, students younger than 15 can be accommodated through private tutoring with a tutor experienced in teaching teens or children.
